An old friend recently asked if I believed in “the afterlife”.
“Is that like ‘the before’ life?”, I asked.
If I had to guess, I’d hypothesize that what comes after is much like what came before. We are future energy prior to becoming former energy. We weren’t aware or conscience of that we would become, but we became. I imagine one day we will also not be aware of that we became, although we did become. Perhaps all we are, is our awareness, while we are aware and the period prior to and after “life” are simply unawareness.
Even grief of death is temporary. It can only be experienced via the awareness of those death has left behind. Our grief (awareness of death) dies with us. And when there is no longer anyone to grieve those who have died, they cease to exist altogether. The faceless, nameless faces of hundreds of thousands of years of humanity – who were all to become, became and now have become. It could be that we are a collective wave of conscious awareness, moving through the time space continuum at any given moment in time.
Every minute, hundreds of people enter awareness, and hundreds exit. By days end, hundreds of thousands will have entered and left, the collective awareness is constantly in flux, ebbing and flowing and fighting – mostly over ideas about what happens when we die, which is all religion really – pre-death playbooks.
